Our passion is church planting and training of church planters. We passionately believe that these two go hand in hand. The call for planting churches is coupled with the one that "the things which we have heard the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also." 2 Tim. 2:2. I believe that Mexican Christians have the responsibility of preaching the Gospel and establishing churches. It is my burden to train, mentor, prepare, and equip them in any possible manner so that the Great Commission is obeyed in Mexico City. I know that God can and will prepare Mexican men to preach the Gospel all across Mexico City. I count it a privilege to be a part of His plan and actively participate in such an endeavor. In order to accomplish those goals we have come up with a plan that we look forward to execute soon.
Our First Year in Mexico City
Our Second Year in Mexico City
Our Third Year in Mexico City
As I write this I realize that this may sound impossible. Let me tell you that I am the first one who anticipates several aspects of this plan to be change by unexpected factors. I see this more like a game plan that gives us a general overview of our objectives in Mexico City. If we are not aiming for something, we are aiming for nothing.
I want to partner with churches that are big dreamers! I want to partner with churches that have long-term visions. I want to partner with churches that are always seeking for the “next big step.” I want to partner with churches that are never satisfied in the work of the Lord. I want to partner with churches that take God at His Word. I want to partner with churches that use their God-given talents to produce fruit, so that the fruit produces more fruit (John 15). I want to partner with churches that live in reality so they can plan for the future. I want to partner with churches that do not look at the potential so long that they end up stalling. I want to have these types of churches backing up my ministry. I desire to have the pastors of those churches praying for me and envisioning with me the “next big thing.” For the sake of the Gospel and for the glory of God, I want to have a vision for my ministry and I want to find churches that have a vision of their own.
Our First Year in Mexico City
- Upon our arrival to Mexico City, we will partner with Eternal Rock Baptist Church, a church pastored by my father Pastor Eduardo Ortiz. I will not be assisting him in his church responsibilities, but rather I will be training, mentoring, and preparing faithful men that have expressed a desire to one day be in the ministry.
- I have developed a two year course to promote spiritual growth, academic advancement, and the need for church planting. While this is not a formal Bible Institute, it may be considered the foundations for a future institute.
- Simultaneously with the preparing of men, we will fully engage in evangelism through English as a second language and music lessons in the community, as well as other outreach opportunities. This will provide valuable practical training for these men and will be a blessing to our partner church in Mexico City.
- We will gladly participate and help in Eternal Rock Baptist, but our involvement with the church will be limited. Our first two years in Mexico City will serve as a time to look for a location for the church plant, prepare men to take with us, evangelize our community, and develop a Bible Institute.
Our Second Year in Mexico City
- Not later than our second year, we will officially celebrate our grand opening. By then, we pray that we have had established a working relationship with Eternal Rock Baptist. They will assist in our church plant by distributing advertising material, knocking on doors, and even sending a few families that will be part of the church plant for the initial process.
- We will double our efforts to continue our preparation of future pastors and church planters and will immediately begin working with a transition strategy for when the church plant is ready to have their own pastor.
- We will continue our evangelism efforts with English as a second language and music lessons. This will allow us to reach our community by using tools to engage relationships with the Mexican people.
Our Third Year in Mexico City
- We are praying that by this time God will be blessing the new church plant and that the outreach is proving fruitful.
- We will be focused on the church plant needs as well as the preparation of men to continue our church planting efforts. We pray that in the sixth or seventh year in Mexico City a second church plant would be planted simultaneously. Eternal Rock Baptist Church will again play an important role in future church plants.
